Dracula Nocturne

Dracula Nocturne is a chamber gothic theatrical production for voice, piano and shadow.  Created, written and performed by Gary Stoker and Joy Wright.

Gary Stoker

Originally starting his career as a classical pianist and conductor, Gary moved to London to work professionally only to discover a new found passion for singing. A career in opera and musical theatre followed for the next 18 years both as a singer and music director/pianist. After retiring from the stage Gary took to a number of creative endeavours including digital media and design, radio, writing and theatrical production.

Gary has written and produced a brand new show about Stephen Sondheim in which he performs as a solo artist; touring begins later this year.

2026 is the start of a number of new projects including Stoker & Wright as well as music director and singer with a new Celtic Symphonic Rock ensemble called Rhovan.

Joy Wright

Joy Wright is a writer, theatre practitioner and creative producer with a background in storytelling across stage, education and literature.

She trained at Bretton Hall College, one of the UK’s historic centres for arts and performance training, and went on to work extensively in theatre. Joy founded and ran Livewire Theatre Company, a touring company that performed at venues including English Heritage sites, creating work that brought history and classic literature to life for new audiences.

Alongside her theatre work she spent many years teaching young people within Livewire Drama and the mainstream education sector, while also undertaking occasional television and film work during her performing career.
Joy now focuses primarily on writing. Her work spans fiction, essays and cultural commentary, often exploring psychological tension, myth, history and the forces that shape ordinary lives. She also writes theatre reviews through her site Tea With Joy, where books, theatre and storytelling remain at the centre of the conversation.

Through Stoker & Wright, her creative partnership with Gary Stoker, she continues to develop new projects that combine literature, performance and original storytelling.
